Dear Santa...

...I only have one wish this year. For a forever home! I'm a really nice girl, I try very hard and I've only been "naughty" a couple times :)

Love,
Reno

Snuggled Down!

Reno's getting along fabulously with the resident hounds... here she is snuggling with Bugs just now.

She wakes me up every morning by putting her head right on the side of my bed - such a sweet face to wake up to!

Reno would be the perfect "Christmas Chip" for you, don't you think? This cutie can't wait for her forever home.

I have a Sponsor!

401(Grey) Investor: Whitney Dickerson
Sponsoring: Reno

Whitney had hoped to adopt a greyhound, but isn't able to because of housing restrictions, so she's donating her application deposit to 401(Grey). Thx., Whitney. We know your disappointed but hope there'11 a greyhound in your future soon.

Settling In!

Reno arrived Monday evening and has quickly adapted to home life! She was a little woozy Monday night as she came off the anesthetic from her spay, so she had a couple unavoidable accidents due to nausea - but since then she's been a perfect houseguest.

This gorgeous redhead has been learning our deck stairs - slowly but surely. In the meantime, we've taken her out on the leash so she'll be comfortable doing her business both ways. She's very calm and hasn't had any altercations with the resident hounds.

We're fighting the good fight to keep her off the couch - she definitely feels it's her calling! Reno is a pro at relaxing, and goes in her crate when we leave with ease (no whining!) She also loves treats and we've been trying to teach her to catch them in the air.

In our many times fostering, it's rare to see a dog so absolutely "good" right off the track - but we truly feel Reno can only get better! Why not consider sponsoring her via 401-Grey - or adding her to your pack? The holidays are coming, you know...

We'll update with pics later - for now, here's her racing statistics. Quite the champ!

Looking for a Sponsor!

People save for retirement, but greyhounds aren't so lucky. It's why we created 401(grey). It's a foster dog sponsorship that helps cover the cost of preparing retired racers for adoption.

Here is how it works:

* Click the link above to make a $50 donation
* Pick a foster dog to sponsor
* Your name will appear with the hound's biography/photo on the Available Dogs page of our website
* You will be acknowledged on our adopter Yahoo List, Facebook Page, and in the Newsletter

10 Reasons to Invest in a 401(g)

* You can't foster but want to help adoptable dogs.
* In memory of a pet or person who has died.
* To commemorate a hound's birthday or gotcha day.
* As a gift for someone who has everything.
* To celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, etc.
* A hound's racing or call name has special meaning for you.
* The foster is a littermate or related to one of your hounds.
* An adoptable hound tugs at your heartstrings, but you are not in a position to adopt.
* It's just the right thing to do... Just ask the hound at your feet! ;)
